Dr. Max Pekarev
Founder, Thrive Reconstructive Surgery
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Max Pekarev, is the founder behind Thrive Reconstructive Surgery. He is a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery and started his private practice in 2013 after finishing up his plastic surgery fellowship.
Dr. Max’s family emigrated from the former Soviet Union to the United States at the age of 14. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. While at Princeton University, he was a 4-time All-American athlete and won the NCAA Saber Fencing Championship in 1996. He then went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he also finished a general surgery residency.
Finally, he trained for an additional three years at a highly prestigious plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is doubly board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery, a testament to his focus on safety and comfort. His goal of expanding this practice has come to fruition and continues to focus his efforts on servicing the entire DFW metroplex community.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Eileen, and two children, Madeline and Evelyn. Dr. Max is a sports enthusiast and enjoys rooting for TCU athletics.
Dr. Nicholas A. Flugstad
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Nicholas Flugstad has established himself as a talented and compassionate surgeon with a desire to provide a detailed and thorough approach to treatment, performed with the highest level of safety and satisfaction. Dr. Flugstad and his team are constantly seeking to be on the leading edge of plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery with the safest, most comfortable, and most effective procedures.
Dr. Flugstad received his medical degree in 2008. He then began his rigorous, integrated six-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. This core training covers all facets of plastic surgery, including hand and microsurgery, as well as general reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Flugstad completed an additional clinical fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center, in 2011, with some of the world’s best microsurgeons. After completing his plastic surgery training in 2014, Dr. Flugstad completed an additional one-year Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Joseph Hunstad, a world expert in this field. In this intensive year, Dr. Flugstad participated in several hundred aesthetic procedures to further refine his skills.
Dr. Flugstad then continued to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This rigorous, 18-month process requires extensive review of a plastic surgeon’s skills and judgment, ultimately resulting in certification by a dedicated group of peer plastic surgeons.
Dr. Flugstad resides in Argyle with his wife and four children. He enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, swimming, water sports, and chasing his twin toddlers everywhere. During his time off, Dr. Flugstad enjoys traveling to spend time with his extended family in the Northwest, his favorite destinations being the San Juan Islands, Whistler, and Mount Rainier.
Dr. Sri Kurapati
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Sri Kurapati, or “Dr. Sri” as he is known to his patients, has spent the last ten years honing his skills in Plastic Surgery. He is a specialist in Reconstructive Surgery with a special focus on Hand and Upper Extremity as well as Breast and Body Contouring.
Dr. Sri grew up in the beautiful rolling hills of West Virginia. After high school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Studies at the University of Dayton. While there, he played NCAA Division I tennis and was active in several art competitions.
He then continued his training in the Buckeye State to complete his Doctorate of Medicine and Master in Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Lindner College of Business. He then completed his first residency in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Mercy Hospitals in Pittsburgh, PA.
It was there that he discovered his passion for Plastic Surgery, which spurred him to pursue his second residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Afterward, he completed an additional specialization in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine Department of Orthopedics in Houston, TX.
Through Dr. Sri’s extensive medical training, he has seen patients in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Orthopedic Surgery. He excels in partnering with patients to achieve their goals of being the best version of themselves.
In his spare time, Dr. Sri loves to play tennis and loves to dabble in oil and acrylic painting. He approaches Plastic Surgery as a union of art and science and is very much looking forward to providing the best care possible to his patients.
Dr. Joshua Rivet
Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Rivet has been providing excellent reconstructive and aesthetic surgical care to his North Texas patients since 2020. During this time he has helped his patients regain their original or expected form and function through meticulous and thorough reconstructive efforts. He has developed his practice such that he spends intentional one-on-one time in the office with his patients leading up to their surgical intervention, ensuring that they understand and are part of the surgical planning process.
He continues to follow his patients closely during their recovery with regular staff communication and office visits. His office staff is knowledgeable, personable, polite, and accommodating. You will enjoy getting to know them and will feel well cared for.
Dr. Rivet is proficient in many areas of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. His particular areas of interest include abdominal wall Reconstruction and massive hernia; facial trauma Reconstruction; extremity Reconstruction after trauma, cancer, or surgical complication; soft tissue Reconstruction of chronic inflammatory conditions such as hidradenitis, pilonidal disease, or lipedema; most hand injuries; skin and breast cancer reconstructions.
A focus on some of the most difficult patient needs has been very rewarding and challenging. Dr. Rivet looks forward to continuing to provide this high-level plastic surgical care to his North Texas community for years to come.
Dr. Ramon Robles

With 23 years of experience in the field of reconstructive and plastic surgery, Dr. Robles brings a deep commitment to enhancing patients’ lives through surgical expertise and compassionate care. Dr. Robles completed plastic surgery training at Duke Medical Center, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Robles practiced both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in Phoenix, Arizona. He relocated to Plano, Texas in 2024 to support his daughter’s gymnastics dreams while continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of reconstructive surgery.
Being a bilingual Spanish speaker, Dr. Robles is capable of servicing populations of patients who otherwise have difficulty finding care. He continues to be committed to providing the best possible surgical care bringing with him the wealth and knowledge he has gained through his career.
Dr. Thomas George Jr.
Foot & Ankle Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Thomas George Jr, DPM, is a podiatric surgeon dedicated to restoring mobility and improving quality of life. He was born and raised in Long Island, New York, and moved to Frisco, Texas in 2013. He graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with his Bachelors in Biology and Sociology.
In 2021, Dr. George earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating at the top of his class. Dr. George completed a rigorous residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital, a prestigious Level 1 trauma center in Fort Worth.
During residency, he was trained in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, collaborating with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. George finds joy in spending time with his fiancée and family. He embraces an active lifestyle and enjoys participating in sports and traveling.
